Founding
Valley Forge was founded in 1928 by Lieutenant General Milton G. Baker, who modeled the school after Sandhurst in Great Britain.
Location
Valley Forge Military Academy & College is located on 100 acres of rolling countryside in Wayne, Pennsylvania, a bucolic suburban community just 15 miles west of Philadelphia.
Size
The Academy is an all-male school that enrolls approximately 300 cadets in grades 7 through postgraduate.
Demographics
Diversity is a strength. Students come from 35 states and 25 foreign countries.
Faculty
There are 51 full-time and 11 part-time teachers. Thirty-one hold master's degrees, four have doctorates.

Cadet to instructor ratio is 9:1. Average class size is 13.
Schedule
The school year extends from late August to early June and is divided into two semesters, each having two marking periods. Class periods (eight per day) normally cover 40 minutes each, with double periods for laboratory courses.

Our well-rounded curriculum includes courses in history, literature, mathematics, social studies, science, foreign languages, health and physical education, art, computer science, social etiquette, character education, and more.
Academic Facilities
The campus boasts a computer center, numerous well-equipped science labs and a library of more than 100,000 volumes.

Accreditations
The Academy is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. It holds memberships in the Association of Military Colleges and Schools of the United States (AMCSUS), the Council for Religion in Independent Schools, The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS), the Boarding School Headmasters' Association, and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). Valley Forge is designated as an honor unit, with distinction, by the Department of the U.S. Army.
