Day School

At Valley Forge, cadets make strides every day.

Our Day School program is a chance for parents to witness it every night.

Designed for young men in grades 7-12, the Day School  offers cadets everything that young men who live on campus get - all the academics, after-school activities and camaraderie - everything except our comfy pillows. It’s a great way to pick up all the things that make Valley Forge Military Academy so special, but without packing up.*

To the fullest extent possible, the experiences of Day School cadets mirror those of Valley Forge Military Academy's boarding cadets - with a curriculum that focuses on developing the whole person and stresses Valley Forge's Five Cornerstones: Academic Excellence, Character Development, Personal Motivation, Physical Development and Leadership. Day School plebes are fully integrated in their unit and will not be singled out or identified in any way.

Valley Forge Day Cadets are assigned to units throughout the Corps.  Each cadet is assigned a barracks room containing a desk for studying and a locker/wardrobe to assist him in stowing clothing or equipment. Day students are responsible for keeping their rooms to cadet standards, and the room will be considered their home away from home. First-year cadets are not eligible for leadership billets, but may be selected for leadership detail in their second year.

As after-school experiences are essential to the cadet experience, Day Program students are expected to participate in the same activities as their boarding counterparts, including interscholastic and intramural sports, clubs, drill, tours, physical training, band and choir.

*Day students are expected to complete our six-week plebe program, away from family, which facilitates bonding of the Corps.
